Caterham Academy's Latest Recruit

You may have heard the name Seb Morris before. He has been a key player in British motorsport in the past few years, earning the BRDC Rising Star accolade and claiming the 2012 Ginetta Junior Championship - a series which runs alongside the BTCC. After moving to single seaters in 2013, Morris is certainly one to watch for the future, as he has earned a place in Caterham's Racing Academy. His career goes from strength to strength. Could we see him in Formula One in the future? He is certainly a talented prospect.

Renault Running Hot

After such a dismal Jerez test for the Renault powered cars, suggestions are surfacing as to what the causes of the issues are. It seems as though the Renault engine has required more cooling than the likes of the Mercedes or Ferrari equivalents which has caused significant issues for both Red Bull and Toro Rosso. The plot thickened on the final day, when the Renault powered Caterham managed to record 30 laps without engine issues. So, how have Caterham minimized the problems?

Caterham Sign Kobayashi and Ericsson

Following several weeks of speculation, the popular announcement came today, that Kamui Kobayashi will be returning to competitive action this season after being signed by Caterham. Kobayashi became a popular paddock personality during his career where he made his debut at Toyota in 2009 before obtaining a permanent race seat at Sauber, where he remained for three seasons. His third place finish in Japan in 2012 was the highlight of his career. Meanwhile, Swedish youngster Marcus Ericsson becomes the only GP2 graduate ahead of 2014, as he claims the second Caterham drive. However, are Kobayashi and Ericsson right for Caterham and is Caterham right for them?

Its that time of year again. The nights are drawing in and the critical eye is out once again, as we begin to analyse the successes and failures up and down the field in 2013. Each and every day leading up to Christmas, a team will be reviewed on the blog, ending with the 2013 double Champions Red Bull on the 24th December. However, there is plenty of analysis to come before then, starting with a review of Caterham's season...

Mid-Season Review: Charles Pic

After a long break, the Mid-Season Review's have returned, with Charles Pic at the center of attention. The Frenchman commenced only his second season in Formula One working at Caterham, following a successful first campaign at rivals Marussia. Pic has had a consistent but innocuous season so far, and will need to improve if he wants to attract the attention of the elite teams.

Mid-Season Review: Giedo Van Der Garde

After evaluating the Marussia pairing, attention now turns to the Caterham duo in the intense duel for the illusive tenth place in the constructors championship. Dutch rookie, Giedo Van Der Garde, has been under pressure throughout the season as his teammate Charles Pic has consistently topped his performances on both Saturday's and Sunday's. While Giedo's position is under threat, recent demonstrations of pace may have prompted a reevaluation of his progress by the team. Here's my take on his season so far.

Van der Garde Maintains Positivity

Caterham have experienced an underwhelming start to the season. They have been accused of following the wrong development path, after building a "hybrid" car, however, Giedo Van der Garde has not given up hope just yet. The Dutchman has reinstated his belief that the team can recover from their early issues and challenge fierce rivals Marussia, in the battle for 10th in the constructors.
