2013 Team Reviews: Force India

The midway point of the Team Review series has seen the spotlight set on Force India, a team who experienced a mirrored season compared to rivals Sauber - Force India were significantly disadvantaged by the tyre construction changes which derailed their challenge at the head of the field and refocused their campaign on defending from a fast charging Sauber who were catching fast. While they managed to hold on to P6 in the constructors, it was certainly a rocky ride, especially when Paul Di Resta's form took a turn for the worst during the Asian leg of the season.

Perez Snatches Force India Drive

Elation for Sergio Perez, devastation for Paul Di Resta, as the McLaren refugee has claimed the second seat at Force India, following in the footsteps of now teammate, Nico Hulkenberg. The Mexican's move to Force India has resigned Paul Di Resta to a 2014 outside of Formula One, yet this was an unfortunate reality and it was common knowledge that his departure was imminent. Despite only entering the sport in 2011, it has already been a roller-coaster ride for Sergio Perez - success in 2012, less so in 2013, yet will Checo prove his talents once again in 2014 and show McLaren how wrong they were to displace him.

British Grand Prix: Weekend Preview

Formula One returns to the UK this weekend, in an event which always captivates fans across the world. Being my home race, it is always a special event and one which British fans value very highly. Silverstone first hosted a Grand Prix in 1948 and the 3.6 mile circuit is known for its high speed nature. In 2012, Mark Webber snatched victory away from Fernando Alonso with just four laps to go, pulling off a spectacular overtake at Brooklands. The Aussie will be hoping to reinvigorate his championship fight this weekend.

Canadian Grand Prix: Friday Analysis

Friday was a day which encapsulated Montreal's weather patterns. As teams focused on the skies more than the track itself, scheduling the FP1 and FP2 running was especially difficult. A rain effected FP1, was followed by a reprieve, with a dry FP2 session, (despite fears of another downpour late on). Fernando Alonso claims the accolade as fastest man of the day, posting a 1:14.818 on the super-soft compound. However, Mercedes still appear to be the dominant force over a single lap.

Fernley Praises In Form Paul

Force India Deputy Team Principal, Bob Fernley, has emphasized the grandeur of Paul Di Resta's recent performances, suggesting that the understated Scot would be able to claim a World Drivers Championship. Moreover, he has suggested that Paul could already have his first title, had he been driving a Red Bull.

Force India Agree Merc Deal

Force India have today announced a long term deal has been struck, meaning that the team will run Mercedes engines and KERS units (plus all other associated ancillary) for 2014 and beyond. The deal is unsurprising considering the recent appointment of Adrian Sutil who famously has links with the German engine supplier.
